SHORT-TERM STUDY ABROAD PROGRAM

SANN arranges short-term courses in Nepal, India and other Asian countries for many student groups of various universities in the United States during their summer & winter breaks. Local experts of the respective countries also teach in each group’s field of interest. There are basically two types of short-term programs—(i) regularly organized in individual countries by the local faculty members, and (ii) led by professors of various US universities based on the demand.

Courses led by Local Professors of Hosting Countries

SANN offers these short term program extending from two to six weeks. Local professors of hosting countries undertake these courses. There is a requirement of 3 or more students for these programs to be offered. These courses have combinations of in class sessions as well as study related tours. A short trek in the Himalayas is an added attraction of these programs.

These programs are open to all undergraduate students in all fields of study. Participants must be 18 years of age or older. Selection is based on individual stability, evidence of academic achievement and purpose of study. The short term programs listed below are offered in Nepal, every year during the summer- and winter-breaks.

  • Photography/ Travel Journalism Program in Nepal

  • Study of Political Culture in Nepal

  • Religious Studies in Nepal

  • Human Influence in Himalayas - Sociology Study in Nepal

Courses led by U.S. Faculty

SANN Research Institute works with various US Universities to offer these short term programs extending from two to six weeks. Faculty members of various US Universities undertake lead courses. There is a requirement of 5 or more students for these programs to be offered.  These courses have combinations of in class sessions as well as study related tours. A short trek in the Himalayas is an added attraction of these programs.

Many such programs have been taken to Nepal in the past. In future also, if any FACULTY MEMBER or any group of students would like to go to Nepal with similar kind of short term programs, SANN is capable of organizing and offering similar types of customized short-term programs in any field of study.
